What's In Your Toolbox?

Your Spiritual Toolbox

One of the first things my father gave me when I moved out of the house was a toolbox. It had some things that came in handy when I moved into my first house. Over the years I have added to the toolbox but the basics are still there, and I return to use those tools over and over again. Admittedly, I married a handy guy, so I don’t use my toolbox as much. I opened it not long ago to find that some of the tools had become rusty. Tools are like that. Left unused, they rust.

On Sunday, we are going to open up our spiritual toolbox and make sure we are using the gifts that God has given us to work our way through life. We will consider what tools are working and what might need some sharpening.

After service, we hope you will join us for Conversations with Carolyn where we will dig in a little deeper and look at some tools that can improve our spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. See you this Sunday for “What’s in Your Tool Box?”

Betty Brandt comments on how two films—Conclave and Penguin Lessons—have taken on unexpected relevance in 2025. Conclave offers a glimpse into the process of selecting a new pope, coinciding with Pope Francis’s passing, while Penguin Lessons delves into Argentina’s turbulent 1970s, raising questions about justice and moral responsibility.
