Do You Hear What I Hear?
Listening for God’s song in the season
Whether it’s playing softly in our homes, echoing through stores, or filling the sanctuary on Christmas Eve, music carries much of the life and Spirit of the holiday season.
At The Garden, we know music is more than background cheer. It is a vehicle of praise and expression, a way we can connect with God’s Spirit. Even songs from the wider culture can speak to the deepest parts of our faith. We hear God working in and through musical artists, who help us articulate our longings and our desire for connection with the divine.
Christmas carols have a rich history. For centuries, they’ve been sung not just as tradition, but as testimony — voices joining together to proclaim hope, peace, and joy. This Advent, we invite you to listen closely with us. Do you hear what I hear? Like the angels, shepherds, Mary and Joseph, we lift our voices in the “new song” the spirit of Christmas ushers in.
So as you hear the familiar melodies of Christmas this month, may they remind you that you are part of a greater song, one that began in Bethlehem and continues in us today.
