Before I Die...
How would you finish the sentence?
This week at The Garden, we reflect on a powerful work of Candy Chang, an artist, designer, and urban planner who created public installations which spark global conversations about life, death, and meaning. Her most iconic project, "Before I Die," transformed abandoned walls into communal chalkboards where passersby could finish the sentence “Before I die I want to…” The responses--raw, funny, heartbreaking, and hopeful—-became a living mosaic of human longing.
As we continue exploring the Art of Living and Dying, we’ll consider how Chang’s work invites us to reflect on mortality and how it informs our sense of purpose. Ask yourself:
What do you hold dear?
What dreams have you postponed?
What truths do you rarely speak aloud?
Chang's art highlights the fact that naming our desires can be a powerful step toward living more intentionally.
Join us this Sunday as we engage with these questions together. Whether you’re in a season of clarity or uncertainty, grief or growth, this conversation is for you. Come curious. Come open. Come ready to consider how you would finish the sentence: Before I die…
