The Memories that Move and Shape Us

Not long ago, I attended a funeral for my friend’s brother. Before the service, they shared a slideshow of photos from his life. As I did not know him, I watched the slideshow with great interest. I was amazed at how much I could learn about him through these snapshots of his life. The series of photos offered a glimpse into the life of a man who clearly loved his family, had a great sense of humor, enjoyed time with friends, and lived each day to the fullest, even through illness. As I left the service, I thought about the slideshow that could be played at my funeral. When the day comes for people to gather and celebrate my life after my passing, what snapshots will be chosen to represent my life? What would someone learn about me by simply watching a 5-minute slideshow? This Sunday, we will explore the memories that move and shape us, the snapshots of our lives. What will be the lasting images of your life’s adventure? Join us for "A Picture Speaks a Thousand Words."
