For many years, Hynes has hosted the American music radio program "The Blues Show" on WKLU Kool 101.9. He is also works as voice talent, promoter, emcee, record shop owner and jug blower. Rich is also known around Naptown as a harmonica player, singer songwriter, acoustic guitarer, a different drummer, mandolean player, washtub bassist, first chair slide whistler, Julliard-trained kazooist, wanna be washboarder, Audiophilic Idiophone and Accidental Archivist for Two Victrola & A Megaphone!
