The Colors of Lent: Purple

Remembering Linda

As we continue with the Colors of Lent, our theme this weekend deals with grief and loss. How fitting this theme falls at a time when we come to terms with and grieve the loss of our beloved founder Rev. Dr. Linda McCoy. Often when we lose someone we love, we find ourselves asking, "Why do bad things happen? Why doesn’t God intervene?" In this week's text, we witness a sister asking those questions as she confronts asks Jesus, "Where were you and why did my brother die?" This week, we will reflect on the importance of asking questions through pain and loss, even in the absence of the answers we may wish for.
