A Plan for Living

Messages from the Mountaintop

I believe the desire for "success" (however one defines it) comes from a deep spiritual longing as we seek to find our way, our purpose, and our identity. Our world and the universe beyond are so vast, we're inevitably humbled when we try to find our place in it.

As physical beings, we need––and crave––food and water, but this hunger and thirst also represent a need for something that a higher power can provide: a recognition that no earthy thing, no success or possession or relationship, can satisfy our deep need to know our place in it all, and to feel we are doing what is right.

This weekend, I'll share about my recent exploration of two sentences from the Beatitudes that, for me, pack a big punch. With just two thoughts, Jesus offers us a teaching on attitude and eating right, advice we would all do well to take to heart and put into practice. I hope you'll join us this Sunday for Lessons from the Mountaintop: A Plan for Living.
