Outlaws & Tinkers / Seafarers & Drinkers:

Meet Visionaries On a Tour of Ireland with Hogeye Navvy!

St. Patrick’s Day is a high holy day that observes the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The holiday has evolved into a celebration of Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of green. This Sunday at The Garden, we welcomed Hogeye Navvy, a Celtic/American folk band presenting a musical tour of Ireland along with an inspiring message.

Hogeye Navvy has been a chantey-singing band for more than 35 years, long before many in the world discovered chanteys of the tall ships. Their repertoire includes songs of Ireland, the UK, and North America in traditional styles, as well as instrumental music. The band’s current line up features Garry Farren on vocals and bodhran, Mac Bellner on vocals and guitar, Leslie Selden on fiddle, and Dmitri Alano on Irish flute, penny whistle, and Highland bagpipes. The band performs every first Friday at The Aristocrat at 52nd and College Avenue in Indianapolis. Join them for good food, drink, music, and the craic!* Visit the band’s website to learn more about them and find other opportunities to hear them!
