Gardeners Gather to Make Posters with Purpose
Posters with Purpose: Preparing for the No Kings Rally
On Thursday, October 9, 2025, twenty passionate Garden members gathered to turn bold ideas into bold visuals. With posterboard, foam board, rulers, and markers, they made signs for the upcoming No Kings Rally set to happen on Saturday, October 18 from 12–3 p.m. on the south lawn of the Indiana Statehouse.
The room buzzed with creativity. Longtime activist and prolific sign-maker Nancy Kohn facilitated a slogan generating session, through which attendees brainstormed dozens of powerful phrases including “No Kings Since 1776!”; “Healthcare Not Wealthcare!”; and “Nazis Followed Orders Too.” The slogans reflected a shared commitment to honoring the U.S. Constitution, democracy, justice, and accountability.
Then the group got to work. Sharing supplies and ideas, they jumped in and posters took shape. Each became a personal statement of resistance and hope. Everyone left with at least one finished sign and a renewed sense of purpose, looking forward to standing together at the rally.
You do not need a poster to attend the No Kings Rally. Just show up, speak out, and be counted!
