Many Stories. One Table.
World Communion Sunday 2025
At The Garden, we believe every table that makes room for everyone is a sacred space. On the first Sunday of each October along with Christian faith communities all over the world, we celebrate World Communion Sunday. We mindfully reflect on our shared belief that we are part of something larger than ourselves. This day of observance started in 1933 to promote unity. Since then, it has spread worldwide.
Communion is not about sameness. It's about connection and about saying "yes" to the invitation to share in God's love. In other parts of the world, the bread and cup may look different, but the heart of the it is the same. Love welcomes. Grace includes. Hope draws us together.
World Communion Sunday also calls us to put our faith and values into action. As we share in communion, we remind ourselves that unity is a practice, not a ritual. We choose compassion over division; justice over indifference; and community over exclusion. This Sunday, as we join the global chorus of voices, let's consider how we, individually and collectively, play a vital part in a story of love that knows no borders.
