Where Imagination Takes Flight

Our Creative Gift

Imagination is a wonderful gift from God that allows us to see beyond the ordinary and experience the extraordinary. Imagination is the source of creativity, innovation, and art. Imagination is also a way of connecting with God, who is the ultimate Creator and Artist. This Sunday, we continue our journey with children’s literature focusing on imagination through the poetry of Shel Silverstein. A man ahead of his time, Shel Silverstein was a gifted artist, author and musician. He had a gift for looking at life with the eyes of a child and reminding us we are to use our imaginations as we navigate life. In a way, Shel’s poetry evokes a sense that becoming like a curious child may help us enter into God’s presence. On Sunday, we will seek to get in touch with our child like spirits as we open our imaginations and our hearts.
