Freedom

Freedom to Love, Forgive, and Serve

The freedom Jesus teaches refers not to the absence of boundaries or constraints, but rather a freedom that empowers us to transcend our own limitations and live in balance and in alignment with a higher power. He speaks of a freedom that liberates us from the destructive cycle of violence, materialism, and self-centeredness. By embracing his example and living out the principles found in his teachings, we can experience a freedom to love, forgive, and serve. May we courageously embark on this journey and become bearers of true freedom in a world yearning for its embrace.

You have heard that it was said, “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.” But I say to you, Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also; and if anyone wants to sue you and take your coat, give your cloak as well; and if anyone forces you to go one mile, go also the second mile. Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not refuse anyone who wants to borrow from you.
